Equipment lecture rooms

To start the system/projector, click on “Laptop” in the “Seminar Offline” row. This might take a few seconds
Connect HDMI and select “Tischanschluss”. You might need to quickly toggle to a different source (e.g., “Drahtlos”) and back to “Tischanschluss” if no image is shown on the projector
After the event is over, it is very important to shut down the system via the “Beenden” button

Follow instructions for offline presentation first
We have tested all three major operating systems (i.e., Windows, MacOS, and Linux). When connecting the USB-A cable, make sure to either use a USB-A socket on your laptop or the tested USB-A to USB-C adapter in the drawer in the speaker's desk. Untested adapters might fail. If used, make sure to return the adapter after the event

There are 2 microphones (handheld and headset) in the cabinet on the left (facing the audience). They are located in the larger of the two drawers. Make sure to put them back after your presentation to keep them charged. Our recommendation is to use the headset for the speaker and the handheld for the moderator and/or the audience (e.g., for questions)
Please select the following settings (recommended) on the control display

Using these settings, the audio signal from the microphones will still be transmitted to the laptop. The setting above prevents the minimal time delay between the speaker and the sound from the speakers by turning down the microphone output volume in the room, as this delay can be annoying to the audience. If you need the microphone output in the room, adjust as necessary
The “Zuspielung” slider controls the output volume of external audio input, i.e., of your laptop, and therefore the volume of the video conferencing system.
To connect to the room's internal audio system, connect the USB-A cable to your laptop (or use the adapter in the drawer in the speakers' desk)
(Optional) You can select the media systems as audio input/output in your laptop's audio settings. Select “EX-128C” (or slightly different name depending on the operating system) as the input and output device
In the respective video conferencing system, make sure “EX-128C” (or slightly different name depending on the operating system) is selected for the microphone and speaker
Switch on the microphone(s) and verify in the audio settings of the video conferencing system that you see a change in microphone volume level when speaking into them. You may also check to audio output

The room has two cameras with a lecturer view (“Kamera Dozent:in”; from back to front) and a room view (“Kamera Raum”, from front to back). These can be switched on using the respective buttons in the “Kamera” section on the display
The images from the cameras can be displayed on the projector using the corresponding buttons for the video source
The perspective and the zoom of the cameras can be adjusted. Click on the slider button in the “Kamera” section to enter the camera settings menu. A recommended perspective is “Kamera Dozent:in” and its “Preset 2”
To use the cameras in the room as a video source (instead of the built-in webcam), select “AV.io 4k HD Video” as the video source in the respective video conferencing system
The camera used for the video conferencing system is selected using the “Für Aufzeichnung” button in the settings “Kamera” menu

For bigger meetings/conferences, it might be useful to control the media system remotely and not via the display on the speaker's desk. There is a tablet in the small drawer (above the microphones). The tablet is password-protected (ask André, Steffen, or Jan for the password). To mirror the display, use the “Extron Control” app. Make sure the tablet is charged (which it usually isn't). Use the magnetic charger that is placed on the outside of the cabinet (black and round)
